Seattle's floating homes are a great place to look if you want to be right in the middle of everything with easy access to all that is around you and the extra added bonus of being able to drop a kayak right into your front yard!  The lifestyle sounds appealing to many and especially this time of year we get a lot of requests to view houseboats for clients. 

While this can be the very best living, it is important to know that the financing is usually different along with insurance, and more.  Each dock is a little different and finding one that is a good fit is a vital component.  There are some docks that consider themselves "cat docks" while others are "dog docks" or a mix.  Gardening is almost always amazing and creative here as well as living quarters in general.  My favorite Floating Home Neighborhood is in the heart of Eastlake on the Eastern banks of Lake Union, but Westlake and Portage Bay take a close second and third in my heart.
