Looking for what to do with any of those old cell phones you have sitting in your junk drawer?
Cooper Jacobs participates in a number of cell phone drives for charity and appreciates your donation at any time! Examples of cell phone recycling beneficiaries are schools and school organizations such as sports programs and school newspapers, and the latest endeavors include the Seattle King County Association of Realtors: Seattle First Citizen Scholarship and Cedar Way PTO.
Here are some of the things that could happen to your old cell phone when you donate your old cell phone through Cooper Jacobs Real Estate Services:
1. I f the phone is good and still holds a market value then it will be sold and the proceeds will go towards the charity.
2. If the phone is good but doesn't hold a market value then it will be sent to a women's shelter or an elderly care facility to be used for 911 call capabilities.
3. If the phone is not working then it is basically scrapped and will be recycled for its precious metals, but the charity is still guaranteed a portion of needed funds.
Recycling those old phones is so important and a great way to be green:
Cell-phone recycling is very important because mobile phones contain toxic elements like Mercury, Cadmium, Lead, Gallium Arsenide and other landfill hazards. Reuse transforms a potentially toxic discard into a valuable commodity. Cell phones that cannot be reused will be recycled for their metals and plastics in accordance with federal and local environmental standards.
